Default TransSyberia with a Modern Twist

Hello,
I want to share a modern twist on the 2010 Porsche Cayenne TransSyberia. I love the history of the race from Russia to Mongolia and can appreciate the uniqueness of the 600 cars produced for North America in 2010 to tribute the dominance of the Cayenne in the TransSyberia race. I own a few of these unique cars and decided to modify one.......before the purest get all upset, I would like to note that I took into consideration all the mod's could be put back to stock with little effort and standard off the shelf/junkyard parts.

I normally build all my cars by myself, but due to moving and selling a lot of equipment I have teamed up with a friend who owns Armada Engineering and builds state of the art off road race trucks among other very unique vehicles. Armada has a full in house design and send all the drawings out for lazer cut parts which they weld and assemble in house. I have been working with them for the past 6 months on design and we have had to change things and redesign a few times and it is still a work in progress, so with that said, I am here to share some of the transformation.

The cayenne was sent to the SEMA garage to be scanned top and bottom and the design started.

we installed a 12,000lb Warren winch hidden behind the bumper. Yes others have done this, but I dont think they have done this large of winch, which we felt is needed when the vehicle is loaded. The front cross member was cut and we added a new stronger dropped cross member. The winch is remote controlled and wired into the hot and ground under the hood..

The front bumper is lazer cut steel, welded and powder coated. Baja design 20" light bar and (2) fog lights.

To save time I bought a raw rear tire mount from Wilco and must say they make a quality piece. There is zero wobble in the rack due to there wedge in the hitch. We made a full size tire spare mount, Gas can holders, rear baja design back up lights flush mounted and license plate mount.

Hi Blagave, looks like a really cool build. Do you know if the SEMA scan is available anywhere?

Designed an amazing roof rack that houses an awning, 40" light bar, side work lights, rear lights, and compartments for traction boards. This was not an easy task and in fact the first build was scraped due to warping during welding, so a redesign that bolted together was made.
Currently in the process of wiring and will share finished pictures soon

Armada Engineering pays to be part of the SEMA family so they have access to the facility in Pomona. I believe there is a scan of the body somewhere online.....the underneath I don't think is available and we will be using the scan to build full skid plates soon.

As far as the wring and switching goes for the lights. I used the Switch pro system and mounted the switch panel in the sun glass holder in the roof panel. The actual controls are mounted in the rear drivers side compartment. I ran cables from the battery back to the controls. In order not to drill through the roof like they did on the race cars and the TransSyberia cars with the light bar, I ran the wires through the rear spoiler and have waterproof quick twist connector .

Top notch build for sure, super cool! In my opinion, the TransSyberia is the pinnacle of the Cayenne models so it's always cool to see replica builds. Thanks for sharing!
