So I took the windshield wipers off to fix a vacuum leak/break booster error I was having, and on the passenger side the ring (part no 955 628 313 00/14 on the diagram below) fell into who knows where so I ordered a new one. But when I put the wipers back on the ring turns but the wiper does not move. Is there any trick to putting it back on that I'm missing? The splines in the wiper arm don't look stripped to me.

Never mind it seems I had the little washer thing that is on the black plastic cover underneath the wiper on the wrong side. Why this part is not in the diagram is beyond me.

I noticed that too. Someone swapped it to the wrong side.

I just picked up a 2005 955 and the passenger wiper doesn’t work, seems to be similar to what you describe. Do you have a photo of the washer and cover you are referring to?
