New here introduction. My 2009 offroad Cayenne build
Hey guys I jumped on the overland bandwagon and got myself a 2009 Cayenne to play with. I've made a 5" lift for it with skid plates, and rock sliders. The typical overland hardware.
I've got lots of custom products planned for it. I am planning to build steel front and rear bumpers and finish the fuel tank skids next.
If anyone has any questions let me know I'm glad to help out the community however I can!

I started working on rock sliders, on this 2010 Touareg for a friend
I made these modular roof racks if anyones interested also

What an awesome intro, welcome to the forums!
Interested to know more about the build.
Does your Cayenne have steel or air springs? How did you achieve 5 inch lift?
Length and width of the roof rack?
Also, I am pretty sure tons of people here (myself included.) will be interested in all that overlanding stuff (roof rack, underbody protection and bumpers) depending on the price.

Burning Brakes
Most folks said if you lift more 2.5-3inches you will pinch the drive shift and get binding........So you can lift it 2.5, then put 2.5 body/transmission spacers/bolts theoretically but no one has done that from what I recall.

Agree 100% with you on this. There are people selling lift kits 2" up to 5" and say the angle on the CV is fine......it's not!!! I purchased a 2" lift and had light CV bind at full height, so anything higher, the CV wont last. In addition, on air strut Cayenne's the raised height changes some of the angles on the front level sensor arms, linkage and mounts, which ultimately will brake the plastic parts.....this is from experience. Beware, if you go too high, you will break parts and need to be able to either fabricate new parts or know someone who can.

Awesome Cayenne...
I just decided to build an overlanding/off road to my Cayenne.
I don’t want to go too crazy since I will not be crawling rocks and boulders...just want something that will go off road with my family...mostly gravel, dirt, mud, & ice.
Like the lift and tires/rims...also the roof rack with light bars.
how did you achieve larger tires....did you have to shave and alter the wheel well for additional clearance? Did you remove the air suspension for coils? Did you had to drill roof for the light bar wires?
Thanks for the post.

This^ makes me regret selling my 957 v6 daily as that's the route I wanted to go with mine. Such a cool build and I agree with Petrolhead, if you build the overland goodies, buyer will come.

OP doesn't post here that much, but he is active on Off-road VAG and Porsche group on fb. He is the owner of eurowise shop, I think some of the stuff is for sale online

I'm going to be selling my 2006 CS soon so if anyone's looking for a cheap pig for the conversion, let me know. I'm the original owner and have driven it 102,xxx miles. I'll have the listing in the Marketplace in a few days. My Cayenne S is silver over black, has the V8 engine, adjustable air suspension with PASM, factory tow and the two speed transfer case.
