What are these Cayenne Turbo's worth?
Currently still driving my 2006 Cayenne S (with either scored cylinders or a collapsed valve) and have been shopping around for perhaps a Turbo (or an Infinity FX50 S, which are hard to find).
I am in Canada and these are my only two options right now.....
Turbo #1....
- 2005 Turbo S
- 270,000 klms (168,000 miles) on body
- Engine just replaced with a 120,000 klms (74,500 miles) replacement (he only paid $4,000 for the engine apparently). Certified mechanic did all the work.
- Coolant pipes done
- No other real records of work done on car
- Current problems are steering coupler needs tighten and there is a low RPM torque shudder
- They want $14,500 OBO ($11,500 US)
Turbo #2....
- 2003 Turbo
- 83,000 klms (51,500 miles)
- Recently brought over from Japan
- Only has service records for the last year - no indication of coolant pipes being done or not
- Appears to have a Japanese after-market stereo
- No known problems
- They want $20,000 (just under $16,000 American) for it
What would you fine folks of Rennlist offer for these two Turbo's???
Thanks all!

I acquired a 2006 CTT close to pristine condition, with 71 k miles on it, for ~$11,500 and will invest a couple of grand for various tweaks and upgrades (Dynavin HU alone is $ 1k).
But for 955s, I believe the rule is "newer the better", so both of your presented options seem like 20% or more overpriced. There are real "needs more investment" risks with these toys.
I personally would not pay a penny more than what I did.

Values on all old Porsches are increasing. I think that white car with low mileage presents much better, but it could be because I hate black wheels and they make the silver one look much more tired externally, or it could be the high mileage on it. The white one has few enough miles where it's possible the coolant pipes haven't been done. You could negotiate on that point to lower the price a couple grand, but I don't think either is currently overpriced in today's market. An 09 Turbo S just sold for $62k - yes it was low mileage and there are only 418 of them in the US, but a 955 or 957 Turbo isn't 1/3 of the car as a Turbo S and both of these are priced at 1/3 to 1/5 of that one's selling price. Plus the white one has that cool protective cargo mat in the back that I've never seen before.

It's not, that's why I said "isn't". Because of the low production numbers, PDCC, GTS Aero kit, and some special hardware and time to achieve the extra 50 HP, I'd say it's worth 20% more and the market sale prices tend to agree with me.
If I had a stock Turbo S I wouldn't sell it for under $50k. My custom widebody one with only 45k miles, I'll never sell and it's insured for 6 figures on an Agreed Value policy.
