Strange sunroof behaviour
Used the car yesterday (Cayenne turbo 2003) and parked up at home and locked it, with nothing out of the ordinary.
This morning, I noticed the sunroof was partly open (Raised at the back and about half inch gap open at front).
When I used the car, I did not touch the sunroof and when I checked this morning the switch was in the correct place.
I opened the sunroof and then closed it and it shut properly.
My model only has key with remote, no entry etc.
So, what made my sunroof open? Is this something anyone knows about or is my Porsche haunted?

It’s haunted…they all are. I have an almost daily ritual of fully opening, then immediately closing the sunroof to seal it again. The wind noise is the key…it’s winter here(kind of anyway) so it’s not like I’m using the roof.
I have found that my 09 GTS simply does things like this, to show me who’s the boss.
and to think…people used to make fun of Lucas Electrical systems. Lucas ain’t got nothing on this Murphy’s Law of a Canbus system in the Cayenne.
just my $.02

Low or failing battery.

Thank you.
The battery is fairly new (about 6 months) and is charged. The charging system works fine. All the wiring was done under the carpets.
Everything else electrical works fine, so I don't think that is a problem.

Ok cool. I've seen Porsches do weird things with windows and sunroofs with low voltage.

I am tagging myself on this conversation just in case someone comes up with a logical reason. Four out of the six 1st gen Cayennes I have owned do or did this about once or twice a year.

At least I know I am not going nuts

Mine did this it was the sunroof switch. Cheap and easy fix and it has not done this since I replaced it. It is possible to clean the switch but IMO the time spent is not worth the effort. Replace the switch.

Should it happen again, I will look into the switch itself, thanks.
