Default Pilot pins or wheel studs

It's cold enough now to put my set of mounted snows on which brings me to the hassle of getting wheels back on the truck. I seem to have at least one wheel off every 3 months or so for any number of things, and 2 times a year for wheel changes. The GTS 21s are a handful and would love to just push a wheel on studs like my 84 911 or hang on a pin. So my question becomes, has anyone used a stud kit like one that FCP Euro has and how does it look, does it really matter how it looks, what length did you get...? Or is a pin just fine? One is $200 and other is $5 but in the end just want to get wheels back on the truck with no hassle and save my back a little.

Pins wins - no contest! The pin takes the weight and only needs one hole aligned. (Now 9A7-007-733-00)

Get 2 guide pins as this also prevents the wheel and rotor from rotating so all the holes line up. Get smooth ones and not ones with knurled areas as they'll scratch the wheel bolt holes as you slide the wheel over the knurled area, and get this as it's super helpful for big and heavy SUV and truck wheels and tires

My Dad used to say that quote all the time!

Great memory at this Holiday season since he passed a few years ago - thanks for that ❤️

THat is a neat contraption! Took your advice and ordered two non-knurled ones, getting here tomorrow, thanks.

Them is the jam.

I used these:

anything similar will do. Those are fine.

Smooth ones are better. Those knurled ends are nice for grip when threading them in and unthreading them, but they'll scratch the inners of the mounting bolt holes as you slide the wheels over that section.

Aren't there mounting pins provided in the tool kit in the trunk of every Cayenne from the factory? Or am I missing something?
I never use them, never had an issue swapping my winter-sunner tire setup twice every year, but I thought they're there.

Yes, and if you have a PCCB equipped Porsche from the factory, you got 2 instead of just 1.
