Default Flex pipe replaced. Considering headers

Had an exhaust leak on both sides. Passenger side fell apart as it was removed. Quite a chore getting them out. Big thanks to my local Indy, Dumont’s Motorsports, for getting them out so they could be welded. Replacing these is ridiculously expensive so I’m really glad I was able to put that off. At some point I’m going with headers and 200 cell cats and no secondary. Combine that with a GTS tune and new throttle body should give me a nice bump.

sorry I’ve only got the one “before” pic. Anyone care to comment on the CATS themselves? Do they look ok? Will they make it another couple of years? Also, anyone have any experience with the FVD headers?

Unfortunately, the flex pipes will fail again unless you replace the engine mounts. Ask me how I know....

Hard to say but cats look pretty clogged. Did you give a shot at cleaning them?

Default Cats

Engine mounts were replaced earlier this year.

I did not try to clean them. Did not know that was possible. When they fail I’m going with headers.

I bought a set of stainless replacement pipes for both side with primary cat. Porsche wanted $3500 for a side. i got the pair for $990 delivered. Been in for three years now. Perfect. Just sucks *** changing them and of course I had to do the hardest side (passenger). still have the driver's side waiting for when i pull the engine. I'll do it then as well as the alternator.
