How can I tell what excessive wear really is?
I have 15222 miles on my CS with 19's and the Continental tires on them. They look like they are starting to show some wear on the outsides, but I can't really judge. I mean, is a bald tire excessive wear?

Park the truck, cut the wheel full to one side (easy on the power steering pump please) and you will be able to see the bars easier. Repeat for the other side.

yep, we just hit 9200 miles and like clockwork the oil light came on as it does every 1k miles. time for at least another quart - but that's "normal".

My Conti's have 12K on them and they need to be replaced. So the question is what to get: another set of the same Conti's, the Michelin's (I know there are 2 types but I don't know which is best) or the Pirelli's??? I'm a spirited driver of a CS in So. Cal.

The 19's I have.Pirelli Rosso's, are getting close to wear bar with 8300 ticks on the odometer. I'll be lucky to make it to 10,000. I asked my SA if that is "normal" or is there a tire warranty. He said Porsche does not warranty the tires because of their "sporty" nature and soft compound. Yeah he says " I have Cayenne owners who come in every 10,000 miles for an oil change and new tires." He sounded proud about it. My shoulders kind of slumped. Oh well, the price we must pay!
