I thought it was a significant topic with wide interest so I stuck it at the top for ease of access. Thanks for starting it.

My updated discs arrived today... how about that ?

However, this appears to be quite an old version... dated Aug 2004 !

Maybe they just had too many of them sitting in the warehouse

Better than a kick in the head tho

Default The Same

Just popped the new one in this morning. It's identical to the one I bought from NavTeq a few months back. Same part number, version number, etc.

Default Dealer is ordering Free CD upgrade to NAV.

Just got back from the dealer for two longstanding issue and a fuel/missing issue. My service rep. is great and very open/honest. He is saying that he has ordered a customer service action item set for me that Porsche has alerted them that they can get a free set for any NAV customer with complaints. I told him about the posts here and asked if the dealers got wind of this and just went ahead and ordered these for some of their customers and if that's why they are getting them without knowing that the dealer did it. He thought that could be the case but admitted that PCNA might be sending them directly to owners as well. Hmmm, still no answer on why we're getting them and what prompted the action.

Speaking of NAV --- dealer could not duplicate the NAV/CD player at times it will suddenly and constantly start "looking" (even when no CD in player nor the NAV CD). It makes a grinding noise that I get from time to time where it sounds like this until the car is shut down. I'm concerned that it will eventually break. Anyone else have the CD player/NAV making this clicking/grinding for an entire trip and at other times not make a noise at all. Frustrating minor "glitch"...

I had that on my last NAV/stereo system and the dealer replaced the entire unit. I'm now on my 4th NAV and they are about to replace this one because it will not automatically turn back on if I left the stereo on when I turned the ingition off. They can't figure out how to fix it...so I'm about to get my 5th NAV unit.

Got mine last week, very unexpected. It appears they have added and updated quite a number of locations and POI's. Some locations that I could only find by street now are available to the exact address.
