I'm sure they'll eventually get it working, get it to market and sell quite a few units.

i'm just so thrilled to have my radio working...and the CD changer...would be great to be able to hardwire Sirius or XM. WHy is this such an issue for a corporation like Porsche...why!!??

#1. Porsche isn't exactly overflowing with electrical engineers, never has, never will.
#2. Because of #1, they often rely on VAG for electronics support/modules....disassemble a Porsche and look how many electronic components/modules are designed by VAG or built they their suppliers.
#3. Becker is the only company making MOST headunits (I don't think Panasonic ever fully recovered from their attempt for the Japanese S class) and they have WAY more customers than their engineering teams can support (ask Mercedes about this). Between fixing all of the 'bugs' in existing MOST products, there is little time left for new product development.
#4. Because of #3, engineering resources are allocated to the largest volume customers....of which Porsche isn't and will never be.
#5. You don't want to know how long you will have to wait until you get what you want from Porsche as an OEM solution. Your best hope is to hang out and wait for Denison to deliver their products to market.
Any questions?

thanks ltc....makes sense....oh well...still love the car for the look and drive dynamics....I do get teased by others when they show me the stuff Acura or Lexus have deployed but then again that's not a Porsche...I could live without Navi which I have but I just would love to be able to plug in Sirius and my iPOD.
