What type of turbo...
...does the cayenne turbo have ?? I have tried to find this information on the internet, to no avail. I suspect it may be a KKK, K-16 or K-24 but I am not sure.
Does anyone know ??

PTEC,...you are correct. The turbochargers are made by Ishikawajima Heavy Industries (IHI),Japan.
same company make turbochargers for our company's ship engines....they also made the supercharger for my SL55.....still,I am surprised they dont use KKKs,as they do for the 911.

Anyone? I no longer have access to an updated PET to check the numbers out, but I know a few here do...
On a side note, I think it would be neat (que theoretical wanderings...) for Borg-Warner to develop a new K26 with variable vanes. If they did this and caught back up with Garrett's VNT, tuners such as 9ff and Ruf could make a pretty sick Cayenne! Twin K26s on a Cayenne with variable geometry could be spooled up to 1 bar by 2500 or so and could stay at that level until redline.
Low-lag, 600+hp CTT anyone? That's one hot pepper!

It sounds like you have got a good knowledge of turbochargers. I dont know what type of IHI they use,but i was also convinced they would have used a KKK,and i was trying to find out what type....then i found out it is an IHI !!
I gotta say from what i do know, i prefer the K16s for low rpm boost with less lag ( as on my old 993 turbo,) however my current 993 turbo 'S' uses the K24s,which have more lag at low revs, but in the mid range they are phenomenal, much more power at the same boost pressure as the K16s.
As for RUF, i think they use modified K24s??

K16s and K24s are for lower displacement motors though, a pushing air through a 4.5l V8 would put them far out of their efficiency range when going for 14.5psi or any real decent boost level.

Try this:

Select GB
Point on general information.
Then point to sample documentation and then you are almost there.
