Default Pics of "tough" Pepper?

I have seen a ton of pics of people who modify their cayenne's to look more racey...but does anyone have pictures of a Cayenne that looks more "truck like". ie...that looks more "off road" than "race track". Just curious?

thanks,

No mods other than A/T tires and mud flaps. But definitely off-road...

Great pics 356Driver.. where/when? I have had a few occasions to off-road on our farm in southern TN. With Michelin/Bridgestone/Continenatals A/S tires up the dirt, deep rut road with NO problems!

The Cayenne is a great off-road machine but I am careful - I don't want to bust my $100K toy!

The top picture was in Mojave National Preserve last winter. It was a Boy Scout camping trip. My friend and I took a group of Scouts into the back country to see some of the old desert settlements. No big challenge - all dirt roads.

The middle picture was at Anza Borrego State Park, a large desert area east of San Diego County. My wife and I went there last April to see the desert flowers. After record rains the desert was as green as I have ever seen. Again, dirt roads so no challenge.

The bottom picture was something else. It was taken last March in a large wash called Lytle Creek behind the San Gabriel Mountains in San Bernardino/LA Counties. Stuck in traffic on Interstate 15, the GPS showed a shortcut around the worst of the mess. My wife encouraged me to take the "road" but it went from pavement to dirt and then kept going from bad to worse. Pretty soon we were rock crawling along a wide trail in a riverbed. Then it started to snow. About five miles down the trail we came upon a "Road Closed Ahead" sign. At that point discretion was the better part of valor, so we turned around and clambored back out of the canyon. So we didn't save any time on the shortcut (stupid GPS), but we had a great adventure.

356driver,
Where did you get the mud flaps?
Does your roof rails and cargo box create excess wind noise?
I just put a set of Nitto TerraGrapplers on my CT. I think I should add mud flaps so I don't throw any rocks and chip up my black paint. But I am looking forward to taking it off road.

Hi GT3,

I got my mud flaps from Sunset Imports - they always give great service and low prices on Porsche accessories. The mud flaps aren't difficult to install if you are handy with a torx driver. I published some hints on Renntech.org

http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...=3012&hl=flaps

The roof carriers add a little wind noise but not much. I keep them on the car for months at a time and it really doesn't bother me.

The wind noise from the cargo box is definitely more audible but I would not consider it excessive or even mildly annoying. In addition to general stuff, the cargo box carries four pairs of skis quite nicely on internal racks.

Nice to use it as it was intended- I also tow (as Lewis and others well know) and other than the lighting issues, it works pretty well. In fact, it did better than a friend's Nissan Titan, and while the mileage when towing isn't too good,it was better than we did with his Titan.

As the model matures & prices come down the Peppers will candidates for a full off road redo. I can hardly wait to see a full blown desert rat.

Hey! I'm modifying my Cayenne S (Road Runner Project) and making it more, as you say, TRUCK-LIKE! It's been a work-in-progress for about 4 months now, a lot of the extras are customed CNC.

So far I have:
-Front nudge bar with quad PIAA off road lights on it.
-Roof rack 1/2 size so I can still use the sun-roof
-Custom CNC rear light bars
-Switched out the suspenion to a Cayenne TT air-ride suspension
- kept the stock 18s' but switched the wheels to Michelin 4X4s
-Both front seats are now Sparco seats with a 5 point harness
-Visor-cap
-*TRYING* to work in a snorkle into the engine (mainly for looks, but hope to use it sometimes)
-Side rockers (Tequipment) but anodized black
-And HUGE rear Mudflaps from this off-road company in Austrailia (name eludes me right now)
------ These are all cosmetic ------

The engine has been worked on as well. Got the GIAC Chip flash, the Fabspeed bypass pipes with the Fabspeed exhaust and K&N Filters. I have custom CNC lighter pullies as well... That's about it done to the engine.

The idea of this ROAD RUNNER is supposed to be based around the VW Toureg they rallied in the Barcelona-Dakkar back in 2004.

There's another guy I'm talking to who is slowy doing the same thing to his...

Hope it brings some light to this... PM if more info is needed

Will get Pictures of Road Runner and Emma (03 996 TT) also in the tuning works...

I'm actually more excited about the Cayenne Project.

I'm contemplating whether to get a Tequipment fender flare or that other one by Cargraphics... Any input?

Thanks for the positive feedback! I'll try not to disapoint you guys when they're both finished!
