Default The best brake pads and rotors!!!

I have read several posts about the subject but still need some clarity. Do CS's and CTT's come with Pagit pads and Brembo rotors from the factory? If not, what do they come with and what do dealers typically use as replacement parts?

I need to replace both the front and rear brakes on my CS and I'm a fairly aggressive driver; what kind of pads and rotors are best? I know there has been a lot of discussion about brake dust, but that is not a primary issue for me.

The rotors are oem branded Brembo, I have a set of Zimmerman drilled replacements ready to go.

The pads are also Brembo but Pagid also do them.

The pads are an easy change. Need some heavy wrenches for the rotors which are basically held on with one bolt. The calipers use 2 bolts. Some pictures are on my gallery.

What is the difference, cost and advantage of Zimmermans as opposed to the stock OEM parts?

Is there a difference and/or advantage of Brembo pads vs. Pagid pads?

Lastly, of all of the many options out there, what is the best combo?

the zimmermanns are slotted and have better cooling properties... hard to say since i haven't tracked a cayenne properly but we've already done a few kits...

I would suggest sending a PM to rennlist member (996TT and Cayenne forum member) tkerrmd

He has tracked the wheels off his Cayenne and has done the brake thing already.

If you need the best brakes for your pepper get the brakes from the power kit. These are the best performance wise.
If your local dealer cant get them for you try carnewal. http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p55047.htm

There is a wheel issue if you switch to 19" rotors and calipers from the Performance Kit. A newer 20" wheel with thinner spokes is required for clearance. This is from TSB 4440 dated September, 2004.

From what i know the PK brakes can be used with the 19" cayenne cesign wheel and with the two 20" wheels. But not with the 18" wheel.
