Default Invasion of the Cayennes

EVERY day now for the past week I have seen at least three to four Cayennes (S and Turbo, only a couple of V6's) and they all were different cars with each 'encounter' It seems that everywhere I turned another one popped up. What's going on? I used to rarely come across one every couple of weeks, if that. Has everyone else seen a flood of Cayennes on the road or what. I read that some new crop circles were identified just West of here and I wonder if there is any correlation

Thats what you get for living in the big city. I bet the SoCal guys report the same thing, more and more Cayennes on the road. I almost never see another. I know there are one or two that come and go from Telluride just over the mtn., but I can go for months without seeing another. I think it correlates directly to your proximity to a dealership. My closest dealer is 5-6 hrs one way, not too many people buy higher end cars without local support.

Here in SoCal I'll probably see 1-2 a day. But, I would also say the same of 911s and Boxsters and they don't make nearly as many as they do Cayennes. I also easily see more Land Rovers and MB MLs.

I'm in Minneapolis and I see a Cayenne maybe once or twice a month. About the same frequency as when I owned my Boxster. X-5's are dime a dozen.

In the Bucks/Montgomery counties of PA my wife reports a great increase in regular sightings of all types of Cayenne and a big reduction in X5's which were almost Accord like a couple of years ago.

Here in Dallas I see a lot of them.

The rare Cayenne sighting in Dallas is to find a man at the wheel. Lots of soccer mommies in Cayenne v6 models here.

Yes, there are a lot more Cayenne (mainly S) in my neighbourhood this year that I have noticed. Some of the lease cars are coming out and I can see people buying a preowned Cayenne (for its Porsche brand, performance, handling, etc.) than a brand new SUV of other brands for the same price.

Usually 2-5 Cayennes per day in manhattan. Always quite a few in Manhasset (LI). Rarely a Cayenne, not even two, in Queens.

Definitely have seen an increase from 2 years ago.

Really deflates the appeal of this car/truck to me. I see this more too. Many are even toting around in the Turbos! It really removes some of the allure to the brand in general too . It relegates this brand to commonplace now. That is what turned me off to the Land Rover RR too.
Why can't "soccer moms" stick to frigin' minivans!

Any vehicle that will fit 1+ kid & a dog can be called a "soccer mom mobile". Resolution? Get a coupe. You won't see anyone "toting around" in that :-).
