Default Tire Storage?

Hi all,
Just curious on the best way to store winter wheels/tires. Do they have to be stored flat on their side or is it ok to store them standing up?
Thanks....

Either way works fine in my experience. I would slide some cardboard under them if they must sit on concrete though. Otherwise, with no vehicle weight on them they will store fine.

Store away from sunlight, U.V. and away from electric motors, ozone.

Wash/wax the wheels (good time to check to see if you've flung a wheel weight or two), overinflate the tires, aply some tire dressing (303 or whatever you normally use) put them in dark plastic trash bags.
You can also purchase these to assist in storage:

I was told to store the tires upright (that is what they do at the dealer) and rotate them every couple of weeks as well as EVERYTHING that ltc has mentioned, of course.

I store mine flat, in the basement and after cleaning and waxing rims.

I bought these for my garage - those wheels take up lots of room in the garage.

Ask your dealer if they store them. Mine does for $40 for the year.

I've got more mounted snows than I care to admit to and have stored them flat for years in the dark attic with no problems. As stated, just clean and wax and put away waiting for the inevitable snow flurries, unless you live in the sunbelt... I'm always depressed getting out the snowtires, and always love putting them away!

I think you may be over the 250# limit with 4 Cayenne wheels/tires?

That's what I want to know - how much are the 19" rims and tires and how much are the 18" rims and tires (rough estimate)...

Anyone have an ideal where I can find such info?

ltc,

You're right - I have 2 of them with the left wheels on one, the rights on the other.
