What's with all the new owners lately
Is it just me (former owner) or does it seem like there's been a lot of new Cayenne owners showing up in the forum lately?
I think the forum 'old timers'....a.k.a. the PAG Cayenne Alpha/Beta test survivors (most of whom are 'naked' by now) should take it upon themselves to act as 'grief counsellors' for the newbies.
Maybe I'll just pull up a chaise lounge chair, grab a pitcher of Purplesaurus Rex, sit back and enjoy the show from the cheap seats.

Suprisingly my dealer has none in stock, 6's moving quickly and S moving OK was the last word I had from him.
There are a lot more in plain sight than before thats for sure.

New owner here....... I bought an '05 CPO CS.
When looking for one in Dallas, demand was high and so were prices.
For me, seeing them is hit/miss. I will go for a week and not see one. Then, like yesterday, I saw about 5 on my drive home from work (20 mins).
Maybe the ltc curse has been lifted and folks are not afraid to drive theirs now?

I needed a new vehicle for work, a biz expense. The CT has been an object of desire for me for a while. Plain and simple there is nothing else out there I wanted, don't care for: X5, Range Rover, etc. I am a hot rodder at heart and the CT more than fits the bill.

Burning Brakes
Then there are those of us who seem to have been spared the "curse". Mine was built 3/04 and has not needed a single repair. Some updates have been done at regular service intervals. Some haven't been done yet like the key remotes, because mine work fine and I keep forgetting to bring both when I have taken it in. I have driven mine cross country several times. I have towed with it and I regualrly race around on curving mountain roads just for fun.
I really like mine, it is fast, reliable and versitile. I can't blame people for wanting to pick them up used. I would be checking service records before buying though

The same could be said of 928 ownership. I see a lot of similarities between the two vehicles beyond the V-8.
- Buggy electrics
- Love-Hate design
- A lot of "firsts" for Porsche
- Expensive repair costs
Yep, reminds me of 928 ownership.

With 04 CTT moving into the mid $60's and 05's in the mid to high $70's this represents a great value for a $90K + sticker vehicle. I can see why people are moving to the Cayenne. Fun & fast SUV for the money.

Bring on the Cayenne Turbo S2 PLEASE, 650HP with a list of $180,000 to lock out some of these soccer moms. Discontinue the V6 and have your cars implode after the normal warranty expires. This might be the only way that a Cayenne will maintain it's allure. It is becoming too commonplace, no longer exclusive.

Implode after the normal warranty expires.....check
We would also like to take this opportunity that in order to meet our fearless leader's stated goal of 100K cars/year (or else he'll shut down PAG and you will forever lose your beloved 911.....even though we stopped making those years ago), we will no longer be aware of or use the word 'exclusive'.
We are pleased that the allure of the Porsche crest, applied to a vehicle that has virtually no PAG intellectual content/property (re: Cayenne V6) still seems to work.
We woudl like to take this opportunity to thank you for your purchase and are confident that you WILL continue to buy our product, no matter what we produce, so as long as we don't run out of Porsche crests.
Kooser,
Snap out of it man. Cayenne and exclusive, in the same setence? Modern PAG vehicles maintaining value/exclusivity?
Have you learned nothing from hanging out here?
Keep this up and you'll be the one typing with a #2 pencil in between your teeth wearing a straight jacket....not me.
You want exclusive? How about a 993 Turbo S? 911 ClubSport, 73 RS, 964 C4 Lightweight, 964 C4 widebody, (PAG history is full of true limited production # vehicles) or even a Carrera GT (although parts are going to become very scarce....and prey you don't ding the chassis/tub, because they are no longer making them and repairs are not always allowed).
My guess is you'll continue to drink the PAG Kool-Aid.....all the while terrified that if you don't and Dr W doesn't hit his financial targets, he'll sacrifice the 911.
