Default I have climbed Mt. Cayenne (with only minor stumbles)......

So this past week has been one helluva week for me and the "loved one". I have completed the following mods to the Pepper and can finally say that I am done. Not without incident........but did you expect this relationship to be an easy one?

Let me first start by thanking a few members from the board for INVALUABLE support this past week: Lewis (ltc), Mike (mudman2), Loren (from Renntech.org), and all of y'all that chimed in to my various threads! I owe you big time!!!!!!

During the past week I have installed the Tequipment Towing System, Brake Controller, and FM hard-wire modulator for the iPod.

Let me just say that the towing system is just that......a system. This isn't a simple hitch install.......which I assumed it would be. My week started off already on a down note since I started the teardown of the Pepper for the hitch install to be "prepped" for the arrival of the towing system. When it arrived the wiring harness was sheared almost completely through in 2 places. A quick call to Jeff over at Sunset and no questions asked had a new harness out to me the same day. However, it takes a couple days to get to NV from OR. I could have insisted on overnight but I have 3 cars and plenty of work to comlpete anyway so I was in no hurry. Finally had time to get everything together over the course of a few days (working a little each day) and have finally finished. The hardest part of the entire process is mounting the control unit above the amp in the rear. You have to remove the side-panel lining............but to remove it you have to remove the roof trim, but to remove the roof trim, you have to remove the D pillar, but to remove the D pillar, you have to remove the C pillar, but to remove..........I hope you see where this is going. Now I understand why my SA at the dealer said there is no way to do the install in 3 hours like the TSB stated. I disagreed, decided to do it myself, and now have removed my foot from my mouth!

Stay tuned............

Next week I tow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps. here are a few pics illustrating my time. The battery disconnect allows you to take full advantage of your gangsta lean in full recline

So, is it Lewis, Larry, Lawrence? Now Lews? These multiple personalities are hard to track
