The Governor of California rides a Harley without a license. So what do you expect? CHP officers wanna have a little fun too!

Actually, this is a popular activity out here on the Left Coast. All manner of vehicles have been dressed up in CHP colors. One of my favorites was from a few months ago. An LA-area Chevrolet dealer suspended a "CHP Corvette" by crane next to the San Diego Freeway to draw attention to his dealership. It looked pretty cool so I guess it worked.

In real life we have had CHP Mustangs, CHP Camaros and CHP Tahoes patrolling our freeways. This adds uncertainty because Crown Victorias are easily identified as cop cars. Nobody else around here buys them.

Almost assuredly a PR squad car, my guess primarily for recruiting. PCNA would have subsidized (CHP is notoriously cheap- they used to be one of my customers... ). To be a "real" squad car, it would need a ton of equipment on the inside- lights can be hidden, but I don't even see a cage.

All would be criminals should take comfort.

If it runs like ours, it will only be on the road 50% of the time. A high speed get away is not necesary. With so much wheel vibration felt at 65 mph they will either give up (or per JohnnyNarcosis run out of gas) inside of 30 minutes. If this guy is tailing you, you will not make the next episode of COP's or even be on the late local news if you.......do not stop at the local Tire center, Porsche Dealer (for the latest rear seatbelt recalls) or gas station.
