How many forum members/owners are butt naked, no warranty of any kind.

I plan to be after 50K.

I'd rather "self-insure" than pay a premium to an after-market warranty company.

The Hawaii 5-O Music starts to crescendo.. a meek and mild fox comes from behind the palm trees ... and declares.. I wouldn't go naked after 50K and my beta experience.. and hearing the musings of alpha model owners.. but, alas, the little fox is mistaken.. the ext. warranty company has been seized... and the fox turns into one big pissed off MADFOX... who shaves his fur to the skin and dons a straight jacket and now screams...

been off warranty for a few months, and about 5K miles....

After just having my rear heating pump and engine water pump replaced under warranty and to be told that all 10 heater flap motors have to be replaced - I'm too scared to be naked.

Since I got Screwed by 1SourceAutoWarranty, I too and naked and without $3+K !

I am not so sure that it was 1SourceAutoWarranty so much as the state of Hawaii. They were solvent but in trouble because of trying a ebay used car warranty program.. but were recovering.. I think there were complaints about slow pay.

So speaking of Hawaii, did you get the forms for making a claim? I'd guess that we won't get much back, since they're paying the guy to liquidate and legal fees and fighting a chapter 11 filing by the company's owners to try and get it out of the state of Hawaii's hands, etc.

My paperwork is sitting here, just haven't had the heart to fill it out.. but guess we need to ---

I feel like Hawaii has had its way with me and all of us SMART guys who thought we were insuring ourselves against expensive repairs for 100K miles... Hawaii regulators --- you bunch of (get to use my favorite icon!)

We have done normal services, tires, oil etc. Replaced the front pads/rotors twice, the rear pads/rotors once and a water pump - that is it!! I am lucky....T2 whacks head with 2 x 4......just refied the last end of the payments for a purchase.
