The cold weather and the twin turbos are a match made in heaven. I seem to get a noticeable kick during these colder winter months, enough to feel a real difference.
Any other turbo guys appreciate this too?

Yes, I definitely notice it here (Jackson, WY). This past week we had a few mornings at -15*F. Throttle response is much crisper and it really feels like it pulls much harder. The cold air going into the intake, let alone the temperature drop on the intercoolers makes a big difference.

I've used Mobile 1 for years, I don't pay too much attention to the weight, usually the middle weight and I've had no problems even as low as minus 20*-30*F. It flows so well, I don't think you need to worry. Conventional oil is a entirely different story.
I run the recommended weight in the Cayenne.

You can't really go lower than a zero weight oil, now can you?

What I meant was that the "Rated" oil ofr Cays is much colder weather rating than what I would put in a car in, lets say, Texas.
So just wondering if the oil actually gels better in the engine as the weather drops. Funny how the manual asks for just one rating of oil across all of USA when the temperature differences here can be upto 50 F in driving conditions. hmm!!!! Porsche, are you really located in USA or is that fake secretary sitting out front on I-88 in Chicago.
haha!!
PS: My lexus dealer changed the oil rating on my car when I got in from Texas to Chicago to compensate for the cold weather.

There is NO way I'm getting drawn into yet ANOTHER PAG oil viscosity debate.
Truly the most universal thread across rennlist.
FWIW, I put 2 cycle synthetic oil, vegetable oil....any oil in my "stolen" Cayenne.....still didn't kill it.......so I wouldn't get my boxers in a bind over 0W-40 vs 5W-40.
and pick whatever oil works best for your expected operating temperatures between oil changes.
