Front/Rear Tire mismatch??
This morning I go outside and see that one of my 285/35-22's is flat, must have picked up a nail or whatever... I have to leave SOON to drive 2 hours across L.A.... can I just bolt on 2 of my old 235/65-17 wheels/tires on the FRONT??? And leave the 22's on the rear?? I can get it repaired on Sunday, but need the car today.
The 285/35-22's are 30" tall... the 17's are 29.1" tall. So the car's computer may think the front wheels are turning FASTER than the rears... is this a problem?
thx

As I understand it, the AWD system is happy with tires that are all within 0.5" in circumference.
Assuming your diameter dimensions are correct, the 17's are 91.42" in circumference while the 22's are 94.25" in circumference - a difference of 2.83" - well beyond the 0.5" limit.
Exactly what will be affected/damaged (PASM, ABS, Center Differential, etc.) I will leave for others, but it doesn't sound like a good idea.
