Default #$%^& brake pads and dust

Thought I better share this - finally made the move to Centric pads. no dust or noise. Repeat, NO DUST!!!!! Just wish it had been several years ago, but nothing was available. This should be mandatory for anyone wanting wheels that don't look like they've been shot at and missed and s--t at and hit.

Had 34,000 on the originals and they didn't need replacing for any reason other than the #$%^& dust. Rotors were OK also. Suggest that stock censors be replaced with Centric sensors, too, although the stock ones can be fitted with a little scrapping of the indent and/or with a little cement.

Well.. I checked it out.. no 19" pads yet? Only listed 17 and 18. What about performance? Longer stopping distance?

"17" is for 330mm rotors
"18" is for 350mm rotors

Are there any rotors larger than 350mm?

MF: Correct about the 18" and 350 mm. That is what they are. I do not drive the Cay very aggressively, so no noticable diff. I suppose (in retrospect) I should have nailed it to check stopping distance just for general info. Lost a good opportunity. I play a no-braking game where I try to anticipate and avoid brakes. Gotta keep it interesting when surrounded by bozos who light up the freeway at the slighest provocation.

Did you install the Centric Posi-Quiet Semi-Metallic pads or the Centric Posi-Quiet Extended Wear pads?

In the past I have had the Cayenne pads changed when I got my car serviced, is it a pretty simple DIY project?

Thanks

It'd be curious to see whether these pads wear out the rotors faster. One train of thought is that something's gotta give - if the pads aren't wearing then the rotors will.
