Just reading through some old posts on oil changes in the cayenne S- they said there were two oil drain plugs (and one transaxel drain plug by the other two just to confuse you). Why are there two? Do they both have to be used, or just the lower one?
Thanks-

Great- I'm going to get the oil changed tomorrow & wanted to mention if they both need to come out (going to independent- dealer wants too much for an oil change)

The second plug is for a second sump which is designed to hold oil when the car is on extreme inclines. It doesnt hold much oil, probably about a quart or a little more. I would still drain it though.

I just had my oil chaged by my independent yesterday- he said only about a cup came out, which is consistent with what you say PTEC. It was the first oil change for the truck with almost 11K on her- I did want to get everything out (and would for any other oil change)
By the way, the dealer wanted $320 + tax for the oil change- I paid $300 for our cayenne and my 911 Maybe on of these days I'll do it myself and save even more!
