Post Porsche cayenne

Hi, everyone. I am new here and do not own a porsche cayenne yet. I currently ahve a bmw x5. I'm looking into a porsche cayenne and was wondering if you guys could list everything i should be aware of while looking around. Also what type of problems do the cayenne's mostly experience.

Thanks

He probably means that people are going to jump you about searching the forum before posting.

You could also try doing what I did. Skim the forum from back to front before you post or buy. That will give you an idea of what problems people have had and which of the forum posters (still) own Cayennes.

I had an X5 (8 Cyl.). It doesn't hold a candle to the Cayenne S, which is the best all around vehicle on the planet (except for the Cayenne Turbo).

Anyone care to differ?

It appears "ltc", aka "Lewis", aka "Larry" has taken the day off since he has not yet responded. The gleeful anticipation expressed by others in response to your post was due to the expectation that he would weigh in shortly.

A Cayenne Forum search on "Larry" will return in excess of 350 hits (a search on "ltc" will probably have effects similar to a Denial of Service attack on your computer.) Larry is the resident Cayenne Angel of Doom - any and all potential problems will be revealed within his posts. OTOH, his long-departed Cayenne was built during Oktoberfest by drunken Leipzigers, and a gypsy woman placed a curse on it as it left the factory...

If you are looking to buy a new Cayenne, you will be comforted to know that it was the 2003 and early 2004 models (the "beta's") that have had the most issues. I have a late 2004 Cayenne S and have no complaints - it has been a wonderful vehicle so far.

Good luck with your purchase!

So there I am, re-enacting the Rennlist Cayenne forum version of an episode from Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.....

Laying motionless in the brush, waiting for the newbie to wander up to the edge of the Cayenne forum Purplesaurus Rex drinking pool, just waiting to leap out and yell.....

FORE !

And YOU had to go and ruin it......Now I've got to wait for the next newbie to wander in

If it is a used or CPO Cayenne, you should look for blood spatter/stains (very hard to remove, no matter how hard dealer's try) from the previous owner, who likely killed himself/herself in the Cayenne.
BTW, the CPO warranty does NOT cover funeral expenses.
P.S. The suicide note is always left under the driver's seat, which is where the large exploding lead acid battery is.

It would help if you mentioned which model year(s) and vehicle mileage you were looking at.

You've been around long enough to know that he never sleeps....
