X5 vs Cayenne. One comment only. You don't see 2 millions of Cayennes when you get on the road. Still kind of a unique ownership.
BTW, my wife likes the X5.

Maybe in New England.. Here in Los Angeles, you can't throw a rock without hitting a Cayenne.

you are telling me there are as many Cayennes as X5s where you live?
I haven't noticed that in my previous visits (at least 2 a year visiting mom). I'll check it out next time I'm in LA area.

IIRC, Cayenne production #'s are greater than any other Porsche lately.
You can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Cayenne.
Check your local Porsche dealer's service department.

The Cayenne was never and will never be unique.

I meant in comparison to the X5 or M Class like SUVs.
Nothing against BMW, I was very happy with my BMW 520 & especially the dealer experience but I feel that X5s are everywhere especially in Boston area. It certainly helps that all BMW maintenance is included.

I'm pretty sure that M class SUV production numbers are substantial as well.

Are you calling X5 "wives' vehicle of choice"? Are you calling X5 girly and worthy of soccer momdom?

I've seen 3 other Cayennes this year in Fort Wayne. Lots more X5s.

That being said, I wouldn't consider Fort Wayne, IN to be the benchmark of preferences for the average US automobile buyer. Most people here buy American cars, so the Cayenne is quite an anomaly.

The 996 is even more unusual...
