Default Looking at purchase/lease of 08/09 Cayenne S or GTS

I am looking at buying/leasing an 2008 or 2009 Porsche Cayenne S or GTS. I don't particularly care if it is new, used, or CPO.

A local dealer has an 09 GTS on the lot that was the owners demo/driver.
It has a bit over 2k miles on it
sticker is ~86k
black on black

for options it has:
bi-xenons
PCM
Heated seats
Light comfort pack
XM
Universal Audio Interface
Floor mats
sunroof
bose sound
bluetooth phone

Also the truck had a tourist delivery charge for an additional $2250 bringing the actual sticker to $88,610.

I am interested to know what you all think I could get for a price or lease deal on this vehicle. I have been reading that I should be able to get a very good deal on this because it is the GTS model. Why is this?

This will be my first Porsche. I am making the switch from a Range Rover. I had a chance to drive a cayenne a few weeks ago and fell in love with the handling and solid feeling of the car.

Any advice or thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Thank you,
BCE

I would strike the tourist delivery charge from the discussions on price.

absolutely, thats why i listed the sticker at about $86k. The dealer's owner took european delivery of the car then drove it in the states for a bit. Now its up for sale. Just thought it was valid historical info on the vehicle.

Default no deals

After talking with the dealer about the above mentioned demo black GTS he is quoting $76k as the "bottom dollar, out the door price" Doesn't sound like a great deal on a demo with an msrp of $86k to me. Also the lease deals sound terrible. He was talking about 41% residual value and a money factor of 7.9%.

Obviously at that rate it isn't even worth considering. Any reason to expect a different story at different dealers?

Have the deals on these cars disappeared?

Look for another dealer. That might be an ok price for a brand new vehicle but for a used (and the demo is used) that's a lousy price (IMHO).

I have no idea about the lease figures.

You know you can go on PCNA's web site and get the inventory of all the Porsche dealers. You can even get the total inventory of a particular model through their site.

...read my post at the link below carefully, it has answers you are looking for in a lease case:

https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...e-numbers.html

Below are updated PorscheFinancial lease residuals/money factors for Cayenne for August 2009:

2009 Porsche Cayenne – 8/09
24 Month – Residual 51% of MSRP – .00146 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 53% of MSRP – .00146 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 36% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 29% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate

2009 Porsche Cayenne S – 8/09
24 Month – Residual 46% of MSRP – .00146 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 48% of MSRP – .00146 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 31% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 24% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate

2009 Porsche Cayenne GTS – 8/09
24 Month – Residual 44% of MSRP – .00146 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 41% of MSRP – .00146 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 29% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 22% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate

2009 Porsche Cayenne Turbo – 8/09
24 Month – Residual 44% of MSRP – .00146 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 37% of MSRP – .00146 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 29% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 22% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate

2009 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S – 8/09
24 Month – Residual 41% of MSRP – .00146 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 34% of MSRP – .00146 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 26% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate

Residuals posted are for 15K miles/year. Add 2% to Residual for 12k mi/yr and 3% for 10k mi/yr on all terms.

Don't have residuals for October 09 yet, but they should be very close.

...there are still around 1.9% lease specials, for example at:

http://jim-ellis.porschedealer.com/

...considering today lease residuals/money factor specials, you better lease CayenneS 09 (residual 48% for 15Kmi 36 mo lease), than CayenneGTS 09 (residual 41% for 15Kmi 36 mo lease). CayGTS residual is VERY lower, than CayS. It surprises even me...it's almost the same car...

...regarding numbers your dealer gave you...He gave you standard crap, NO specials, no any other help for the customer. He didn't even mention to you the fact, that 36mo lease is much more customer friendly (money factor) vs, for example, 48mo lease...Dealer should offer demo car at least 15% off msrp. He also "packaged" too much money for himself in an artificially inflated 7.9%=0.00329 money factor...

Get at least 8% off msrp discount for a new car (ordering, not from the lot...). For a new car from the lot in a current economic environment you MAY push for 8-13% off msrp...

Find another dealer, they ALL lie, but some lie LESS, than others...some will be willing to deal better...

Enjoy,

Yeah, makes no sense to me that "S" residuals would be higher than GTS'.
