Default What are late build 2005 CTT's selling for?

Hey guys!

The wifey has her heart set on a GL450/550 to haul the kids/golden retriever around in. I'm trying to decide which car(s?) to sell to make this happen. We've enjoyed the Pepper but I can't really justify having a GL, a CTT, and a 911. We're definitely going to replace our 2007 4runner with the GL and I wouldn't mind selling the CTT and replacing it with a cheaper 4 door car to compliment the 911. My problem is I don't want to give the CTT away. The local "stealer" offered $29k as a trade-in when they had a 2006 V6 Pepper with 40k miles on the lot with an asking price of $33k!

What's mine worth in a private party transaction?

2005 Cayenne Turbo White/Black with all black trim/roof rails
build date of 6/2005 (almost a 2006 model)
$100k+ original sticker
19k miles, we've owned it since 9/2006 and bought it with 3800 miles on it
20" Painted Sport Technos with new Yokohama Parada All Seasons
Rear Backup Camera
Supple Leather
Towing package
Rear sun shades
Satellite radio
Custom "turbo" script on leather center console
Other stuff I'm prob forgetting

It's got some stone chips on the front, a few stone chips in the windshield, a little curb rash (wife parking) on all 4 wheels, never any problems other than a sticking backup camera and a check engine light due to a loose gas cap. (knocking on wood)

TIA!

The dealer was probably using Galves.com pricing.

I'm assuming you've already checked KBB, NADA, Cars.com, et. al. for 'online pricing'.

If I were to guess, $40K private party...

Thanks for the response. I have checked those sources but I'm confronted with "asking" prices all over the board with very few "selling" prices.

Thanks for the response but I'm potentially selling, not buying.

As Andy said, if dealers are asking low 40's, then a private party sale would be around 40...at least IMHO.

The advantage a dealer has over a private party sale is the "peace of mind" that a CPO can bring to the sale.
There have been posts...OK, borderline suicide notes....on this forum regarding what aftermarket warranties cover...or more specifically, don't cover.

I think you CTT is a very nice truck. I am sure you can sell it here on the forum for much more that $29K. I think low 40s is right. Gee, it only has 19K miles on it!! White is a bit uncommon in a CTT. I am sure that the same dealer will CPO it, and sell it for mid $40k's.

Default I own an 05 CTT Black Black 20" etc. with 37kmiles

in truly excellent condition. I've been considering selling and if I did I'd be asking 40 and would probably take no less than 39. Good luck.

This is a little bit of a tough call. I have been researching prices on used 2005s for a couple of months. Most have between 50-80K on the clock. A few days ago I counted about Sixty 04-05s CTT for sale for $23-$35k-ish. KBB says a CTT with 66K on it should be priced at about $40K suggested retail. But the reality I am seeing online is much lower than that.

I'm sure yours will carry some premium by only having 19K miles on it and being an 05.. Just need to find the right buyer.

Part of the issue I think you will find is that even though 04s are less desirable here on the forum. Buyers are willing to pay the lower price for them, especially when they can get a warranty from the dealer. I was at a Porsche dealer the other day that has an 04 CTT for $25K with a warranty included. Those type of deals may make your 05 hard to sell for $40s+ individually.

Whoops I deleted in error. Dealer with CPO low 40's. I bought my 2005 CTT with CPO and 8K miles (not a typo) for mid 40's just over 1 year ago.

That's a great deal! Maybe we should get ANOTHER CTT instead of the GL!!!

Thanks for the great post, it was really informative from a buyer's perspective.
