Default 2011 Porsche Cayenne S Oil Warning

Ok, this is the second issue I've dealt with. I'm getting a warning that the Oil Level Min Reached. What the heck is this? I'm taking it in on Monday. The awesome new Porsche came equipped with bad wipers which were replaced by dealer at no cost to me. This SUV has around 2,000 miles and I'm feeling a bit of remorse for buying this over the BMW. I hope this does not develop into a pattern of problems.

I bought my 2008 Cayenne S new, and I think it was around 4K miles that I had the oil light come on. These engines are known to use some oil. Now since I know, I check them frequently. Since I have been staying on top of it, the light has never come on again. Also, my CS does not seem to burn as much oil now, but still does. My CTT seems o burn less, since it is a different engine, not DFI.

My 06 also used some oil -- although not a whole quart in 2k -- maybe 4k.

It has 40k on it now and I have never added any since then -- change it every year at 10k or so.

Are you sure it was filled to begin with?

Mine likes wipers ................. and tires

Guess again.
What is the latest "acceptable" or "non warranty" oil consumption numbers out of Porsche these days?

I changed my oil in late april / early may (not sure exactly when). Last week I got the oil warning light come on. Sure enough, it was below the min-marker. I've checked for oil leaks but found none - and the engine runs very well. I have been driving quite a lot, and the car is a 04, so from what I hear this is normal. I always have a spare quart of oil in the back of the car from now on

my 535 BMW oil light came on in the first 3000 miles. Now it lights up just before the service time. Every 7000 or so depending on use/weather.

Just wait until the Turbos start hitting the road in mass! I cannot imagine oil consumption getting any higher. I am at a quart every 500 - 600 miles, and they tell me its within the "acceptable range" .You know there is an issue when you need to carry MORE than one quart with you, at any given time!

Default same problem

I took delivery of my '11 Cayennes S just a few weeks ago and also got an "oil level minimum reached" message at 1,800 miles. I was told by the service people that it is normal. It was filled at no charge. I freaked out at first because I did not expect this in a brand new vehicle and thought maybe the guy prepping the car for delivery maybe forgot to fill it up.

Just got this warning coming on at 2200 miles. Had to add 3 quarts of oil. I've never to put oil in any of my cars in between servicing. So, I was surprised to have to do it to my '11 CS. Dealer said the same thing that it is a known fact that this engine consumes oil.
