Not complaining, I guess, but it is in the 40's here...

BTW, reading Bill Simmons excellent "Book of Basketball" this week. I think you'd really enjoy it.

Rome, not really interested in your "in the 40's" comment. you missed 12-18" of snow here, mid teens to mid 20's, wind blowing 40. So, bottle up some "in the 40's", and dump on my parking lot please.

Glad the heated windscreen is working well.

Googled it, sounds good. Don't let the cooler weather bother you... throw on a cashmere speedo and get down to the beach

I'm glad to have one on my G-wagen. Works like a charm. Much faster than the defroster!

I thought the lines would bother me when driving, but I rarely notice them. It's funny, because everybody else that gets in the car notices them right away.

so if your windshield is chipped or otherwise damaged, is the heated windshield covered under insurance just like a standard one. Is the heated one significantly more expensive?

We noticed on the Land Rovers the image distortion was more severe when driving with the heated windshield operating than when it was off. Cayenne might be similar.

Can't beat the fine wire heat for quick defrost or even de-ice though.

Having driven both the Range Rover AND my new CT with the heated windshield, the filaments are noticeable on very close inspection but have NEVER interfered with my vision or glare day or night. And, in winter climates, the heating is indispensable. If you live north of the mason dixon and are on the fence, they are a must.
