Default Cayenne Aluminum cooling pipes on sale Great price

Found these while searching today, over $100 cheaper than I've ever seen before for the kit.

I just posted that myself. I actually bought it from them, and that price includes standard Fedex 2nd day air. I literally got it two days from the date I ordered it (they shipped same day) coming from Northern CA to NJ.

I am going to order all my parts from them.

I looked at that kit and what was in it. That kit is for the non turbo. The turbo kit has more parts. I just got mine from Sunset .. for 450. That includes the two additional pipes in the back of the engine. I went over every part number with sunset ... after I saw that kit for sub $400.

Anyone doing this as DIY?

I think I can do this job if there is a clear DIY instructions.

Just called my local Porsche dealer, Barrier, Bellevue WA, and got a quote for $1,850 (~$900 for parts + ~$900 for labor), they are willing to do the job w/ me supplying the parts, but this will negate the 2yrs warranty on parts & labor.

I think $900 + tax is a great deal but would be awesome if I can spend that money to do something else for my Cayenne

Shipping automatically comes up at $50 on their site for some reason. Call them and they will give you actual shipping cost. Mine was $15 from California to NJ Fedex 2nd day so I'm guessing that's the most it could be.

I wondered about the parts myself since they do not list what is included on the site. Here is what was included on my invoice:

999-707-370-41 O-Ring (2)
948-106-049-07 Coolant Pipe, LO
948-106-059-06 AS Coolant Pipe
948-106-123-03 Thermostat Housing
948-106-230-00 Neck, Coolant P
948-106-240-00 Hose, Coolant P
948-106-259-00 Fastening Brack
948-102-269-00 Fastening Brack
948-106-279-00 Bushing (3)
999-512-389-01 Hose Clamp (2)
948-106-016-03 AS Vent Line
948-106-401-01 Sealing ring

Looked to me for non-turbo S, it is same kit as Suncoast minus the coolant. With coolant it could add up well near what Suncoast charges but even if your local dealer tries to charge $70 a gallon (one of my local dealers quoted that price) you still come out cheaper with porscheoemparts.com They are a porsche dealership and I thought their customer service was incredible. Very friendly. But more important to me, I got my products in two days flat for $15.

Yes I think you are right. That is the non turbo kit. My Turbo kit that I ordered from Sunset for $450 has a few extra parts. 955-106-323-50 and 948-106-035-51 ... these are "T"s in back of the engine that crack. Also mine comes with intake gaskets 948-110-145-01. I still have 4 months of CPO left .. but I may just get it done.
I may try to tackle this one myself .. or find a cheap indy to do it. The job does not really look that hard. Just time consuming.
Did anyone hear that they are running low on the replacement metal tubes ... as it is an older model part ... and eventually they will not support them.

I see from your other posts that you had the work done at an Indy shop. What shop did you use as I'm in NJ also.

Thanks

I'm in NJ but my Indy is in Long Island, NY. I've been going to him for years back when I lived in Queens, NY. I still go to him, because he's top notch and his pricing is so reasonable. Also it gives me an excuse to go back and hit the golf courses in Suffolk County while I drop my car off in the morning.

He's very well known in Audi/VW circles as he specializes in them but his shop does alot of Porsche work. He breezed through my coolant pipe job. Took less than four hours.

Elite Motorsports in Medford, NY. It's definitely worth the trip there for his expertise and what he'll charge you. I guarantee it.

Ask for Sal, and tell them Peter with the Black Cayenne sent you.

If you have a Turbo make sure to replace the two "T"s in the back of the engine. It's almost the same labor if you have to replace them at a later date. They are very difficult to get to and I can see some shops not doing them if not requested. My coolant pipes were changed before I purchased it but the T's were not. (One of them cracked 4 months later.)

Is it true that the 'T's can be accessed from underneath? Anyone?

does anyone have the part number for the "T's" in question. I ordered the aluminum upgrade kit from Sunset a while back, but haven't installed it yet. I want to see if I need to order the T's as well....

Thanks

S.
