Default Dension help

So when I bought the CTT it already had ipod integration installed from previous owner. The problem I have is, it doesn't display any of the song titles or anything. It just shows disc# and track#'s. It also only displays disc 1,3,4,5,6. disc 2 is greyed out. So I decided to pull out the PCM and see what the previous owner installed. I come to find out that it's a Dension Gateway 500. It looks to be an older model that has the 4 DIP switch instead of the current 6 DIP switch. I updated the firmware to 222. The PCM plays music from my ipod fine but just doesn't display and info. Could it be installed incorrectly? How should the DIP switches be? Right now 1 and 4 are off and 2 and 3 are on. How can I get the PCM to display all the info. Thanks for the help.

I have the changer installed but it doesn't have the cassette for it so I don't know if it works.

With PCM 2 and cd changer installed, bit switches 2 and 3 should be on, the rest of them off on a six bit switch module. Don't know about the 4 switch pack and if it affects the info display.

Mine plays normally with display and the 1,2,3,4,5,6 display defaults to 5 when playing. The rest of the numbers are greyed out.

By displaying 1,3,4,5,6 it sounds like your in a paging or select config mode.

Have you set up your select+ and paging+ options by cycling the mode selector switch 6 times?

What is this trick ? Does it allow you to page a screen at a time instead of scrolling through all the songs to get to the next page ?

I don't have a switch on my unit. Just the four dip switches. Am I missing something?

You should have a small black module that is connected to the dension, see the install manual that i sent you.

Looks like I don't have the module. I wonder if I can buy one by it's self? Hopefully that will fix my issue.

Since you pulled out the PCM last time to find the dension, maybe you can check back there and trace what is actually attached to the dension, it is the black aux box(#5 in the insallation manual diagram) that you are looking for.

The only thing that is connected to the dension is the iPod cable.

Since you are missing the small black service module, you need to find which pins are used in the service module to activate pageing, select mode, you should be able to jumper those connections on the control units socket and cycle it out of the mode.

What happens when you press and hold the number 1 button on your PCM key pad. Does the PCM display change into a different mode when you are playing music through the Dension?
