Default New to Porsche

Hi guys. After a longtime looking, I now own my first Porsche....choosing the 03 Cayenne S to replace my Grand Cherokee.

I drove the car car home approx 160miles in snow and rain. It performed excellently, no noise, rattles, squeals or the like. Exceeded quite a high motorway speed without any vibration and pulled like a train through the gear box.

My question is ; while garaged at home I noticed at idle in neutral, the car will not rev past about 4000rpm - Is this a safety feature of the engine?

Thank you.

Thumbs up

Thank you For the welcome wirunner

Thats good to know. All i have to do now is get rid of the wet dog smell from the boot (car mats have been bathed and scrubbed twice!)

So far I have used a dehumidifier followed by white vinegar in bowls and then bicarbonate soda sprinkled all over lift up wheel cover.

Is there anything else I can try? Before paying for a valet.

Maybe try to rent an ozone machine? If not, then Fabreze might help a little.

Thanks Divot - the mats came up ok.after having a couple if baths

Think the previous owner had a valet, but did not let it dry properly - just closed the car up.
I'm onto fabreeze now, did it 2 days ago. Checking tomorrow.
