Powder Coat Rims? Or Not?

Powder Coat Rims? Or Not?
My 2012 Cayenne V6 Manual should be here in a few weeks, and I am debating having the wheels powder coated black. My car will be Meteor Gray with Exterior Package in Gloss Black. 19" Turbo Wheels.
Here are pics of 2 cars with similar paint schemes. One with black wheels, one without.
If i go with black, I'll get black center caps with color porsche logo, and black lug caps.
I realize it is a matter of taste, but any opinions are welcome.
Thanks

Same here. I just don't really like black wheels very much. I think the silver finish looks much better. The wheel style you chose is very nice.
By the way, if you choose to have them powder coated, make sure to use a reputable, experienced shop. The powder coating process is done at high temperatures, and it can dramatically weaken the wheels if it's not done properly.

most places do wheels at low temp so you should be fine,
tape off the crest and have the caps painted to match...
here is my fav combo, the turbo wheels!
and my other vehicle (you posted my first)
as you can tell i love the satin black wheels and do it on every porsche, and will on 991 as well.. goes perfectly with the black trim package... remember to get the trunk piece too as it comes silver from factory w/ black trim package.

It's your P!g, do what you like. Why do you care what others think?
Some people say that anyone with an S with red calipers is a poser. Ask me how much I care.

I think I'm leaning towards having it done. I wasn't sure how that style wheel would look in black, but looking at the pic above Riley posted, I think I like the way it looks. I'm surprised how unanimously against it the responses were. I'm in my 20's so maybe black wheels appeal more to people in my age group than they do to an older demographic. Some people have remarked that they think black rims look "ghetto", like in the way that spinning chrome wheels are.
I do like the 20" Spyder wheels, but could not justify the cost when I was deciding on options. I did spring for the PASM and PTV though, so hopefully I'll be pleased with them. Also, my current car has similar web-spoke wheels so I know first hand how annoying they are to clean using a little wheel brush to get into all the corners.
Powder coating them a darker grey color like azbanks suggested is a thought, but I doubt I'll go that route.
Any idea if powder coating the wheels has any impact on warranty?
Divot, I agree with you comment about not caring about what other people think, but I'm trying to figure out what my preference is, and I think this thread has helped me achieve that. I asked about getting my calipers powder coated yellow, but they said it would be tough because they would have to take out all the internal seals because they would melt during the bake, and that painted calipers never look quite right.
I appreciate all the responses.
