Narrowed to two...

In that situation, I would base my decision on condition and history. In general, an '06 will have (slightly) fewer problems, however 9 years after production, the '04 may have had everything done already. Which one is in better shape and optioned the way you want it?

Well, they both have the same options, down to the carbon fiber trim...
No records for either and carfax does not show any of the common problems being fixed (coolant pipes etc).
Both are one owners and both look (from the pics) to be in the same shape which appears very nice.
The 2006 is 500 more and has roughly 15k more miles...

If the coolant pipes havent been done.. even if the '04 has less miles the plastic could be more brittle. You do get the newer nav with the 06. I dont consider the mileage on the 2006 to be particularly high FWIW. Does carfax show where these two trucks have spent their lives?

Hi Endless Corners
The 04 has was originally bought at the Beverly Hills Porsche Dealer (insert la de dah here) and later transferred to NY... again one owner.
The 06 appears to have been in PA its whole life. So, some snow/salt I'm sure.
The 06 only has one key ($$)... The dealer is faxing me over the service records which she got from the local dealer. Says it's pretty up to date.
I'm glad to hear that 64K isnt excessive, what is a good average that CTT last to?

There are definitely people running 200k+ miles. I wanna say 250-300k with good maintenance... what do you wanna bet you wont keep it past 150k. The fact that the 04' was a cali vehicle is a plus.

I think most will tell you to go with the 06 (05 and up). After months of research I was between an 04 and an 05 with slightly more miles. I ended up with the 05 even though it had more miles because overall condition was better and because it had much better (full) service history. Also, 05 up have suede headliner, dvd nav, etc. I would definitely buy on records and condition rather than miles :-)

Ironically I kind of dislike the look of the suede headliner - but maybe I'm just odd. I have the dark palm green interior full leather package and just love the way it looks. It has dark green fabric headliner that looks just right to me. Whenever i see pictures of the suede it looks all mottled and blotchy from the grain going different ways. I think I'm just a suede hater though. In general, I am so happy with my interior that it keeps me honest. Every time I get the itch to cop a turbo - I have to face not having this interior lol.

Good news, the dealer with the 06 contacted the local Porsche dealer where the CTT was serviced and they gave them the service history.
19 pages of records,
Some hightlights:
-Yearly maint looks completed
-Windshield replaced at 43k
-Replaced front/rear brakes rotors pad at 43k
-40K major svc done at 49k
-@49K, Multiple misfires above 70mph (mutiple faults:P0300, P0306, P0301, P0308, P0307) Anyone knows what these mean?????
-Replaced front/rear brakes rotors pads sensors at 53k
-Replaced steering rack
It's at 64k miles now. I don't see any notes regarding replacement of coolant tubes, drive shaft, or coils....
Would the plugs have been replaced at the 40k maint?
Last question, is $28500 a fair price for an example in this condition?
Thanks again to everyone!
