Plugs should have been done at the 40k service. Misfires are usually coils, and they would have seen cracked coils when they pulled them out for the spark plugs.

As I recall, there was a factory recall for the coils, including reimbursement if work had already been done. Mine was covered by extended warranty, but the new coils made a big difference in performance - no turbo lag, better response. In addition, I believe there were several redesigns of the coils, to improve reliability. Also, had a couple of firmware updates done along the way that may have helped on the 2004 CTT.

Thanks for the advice and help. Im going to go with the 06 turbo. Although its missing the second key, it does have all the service records as opposed to the 04 which has none.
I'm flying out to Pittsburg Friday to pick it up. I'll post some pics when I get it.
I've always loved Porsches, and have had a few:
-84 944 N/A
-85 944 Turbo
-99 Boxster
-04 911
I sold my 911 when I deployed to Iraq for a year and regretted it. I think the Cayenne will fill that sweet spot of being fast, but also practical in the winters.
Thanks again!

Well, I'm happy to report I'm the new owner of a 06 CTT. It was a fun drive back indeed. That said, the dealer was less than honest about some of the issues on the vehicle.... all turbo techno sport wheels had horrible curb rash, the front facia under the right headlight is cracked... and there were some scratches on the body that went to the metal. Oil blacker than night... tires nearly spent.
After a plane ride and a (120.00!) cab ride, I was not in the mood to have the old "we missed that" trick played. In any event, I was able to get the price down a little more but it still left a bad taste in my mouth.
But that faded a bit as I got it on the highway and put the pedal down to the floor board. After a visit to the local dealer for a oil change and brake flush, it was a 5 hour drive home.
The dealer was able to pull most of the service history and they also did a courtesy inspection. Other than the tires and needing a brake fluid flush, it checked out great. Dealer says that it appears to have been well maintained and all the service intervals were hit at reasonable points.
So... a big THANKS to everyone on the forum for helping me with this I'm super happy overall with the CTT and will be downright overjoyed when the little cosmetic issues are fixed.
If anyone is interested I'll post a few pics.
Thanks again!!!
