Default Pioneer HU, no FM radio reception.

Hi

I've recently replaced my PCM with a Pioneer AVIC unit.

However, there is no radio reception even with antenna connected.

I do remember the last owner indicating that they had had a new windscreen... Is the antenna in the windscreen? It's a 2003 cayenne.

That could be my issue.

Pull it out and connect a different antenna directly into it. If the stations come in then something is not connect right.

Besides that how did the install go? What parts did you get to make it happen? Pictures?

Did you use a powered antenna adapter? I know on my Audis and BMWs in the past they needed a powered antenna adapter to boost the signal. Basically a wire coming out of the antenna adapter that gets connected to a 12v switched source. I usually connected them to the remote wire for my amps.

Install was very easy.

I got the Avic F940BT, I think its the X940BT in the UK.

This is the fitting kit: http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/conne...it-p-8601.html

And I bought this: http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/conne...r-p-34501.html

It was all plug and play and I retained steering wheel functionality...

Powered antenna adapter... hmm, no I dont think so. Elaborate??

I have the same problem after installing a Pioneer AVH-P4400BH. Have yet to figure it out. I just figured it would not work with the Pioneer digital radio option here in Europe (US Spec radio and Cayenne). Wish I knew the answer.

The stock system is a diversified set up, so the electronics attached to it must match the head unit
