Default Need help with lost mirror cover

Hi and Happy New year to all

I lost the top half (driver side) mirror cover during the last snow storm here in Boston. Is this a standard pre-painted part (mine is in grey) or does it have to be painted by a body shop before installation?

Thank you all in advance.

Regards,
Sam

It does not come pre-painted, as I just got a replacement myself a few weeks ago. Not sure how to solve getting it painted to match.

I've looked for just that part (painted) on eBay and salvage lots, but no luck.

I would try to source it out of the junk yard, there are so many 955 Cayennes made, you should be able to find one someday.

If not, I highly suggest you get both sides painted to get 'em matched. Hope the bodyshop doesn't charge arms & legs for these small parts.
(Or another alternative is to get both sides wrapped with 3M vinyl.)

Good Luck!

If you like carbon fiber stuff - you can buy cheap carbon fiber shells that go over plastic parts - I think I've seen these on Ebay for around $70.

Thank you MX22. Today I ordered the unpainted part from Suncoast Porsche for about $80. I'll look into the carbon fiber option too.

paintscratch.com - paint spray can ( base ), primer, clear coat
so polishing compound and it will look like new ....

With small element like this no need for body shop to have body shop results ...

Just good prep and it will be perfect

Part arrived and installed. Good thing the primed color is grey so it doesn't look too bad until the car goes in for future body work.
