Default wet drivers side footwell (UK spec)

i got the car back in August 2013.
i posted the usual issue of condensation. so form there:
1) i cleared the aircon condense drip outlet ( passenger side fire wall/left side). the passenger side footwell has always been bone dry. so its not the blocked air con drain issue.
2) drained a huge amount of sloshing water by removing the 2 front wheel arch grommets.

since then the situation re. the windows condensing has been reducing.

today i wanted to replace the clips holding the drivers side (right side) floor mat. on uplifting of the carpets the floor was wet/damp but not flooded. there is no corrosion and the wires are all fine. there is a sponge/plastic cover against the top of the pedal area that travel down to the floor which is saturated with water. i have 'moped up, as much as i can. Now could this water have been historic i.e. from the front vent area prior to me draining it? or another issue such as sunroof drain blockage?
now do i:
1) dismantle further to check sunroof drain which would mean removing headliner
or
2) see what happens when it rains again
or
3) something else that members will advise...

thanks

raj

i have just poured a litter of water on the sunroof drain. it seem to be draining externally from both front and back drain. sounds hopeful?

I went through this. Took 2 times to get all drains cleared. The third time back was just residual water from the system. Drive it around a bit and make sure it is dry and you are probably good to go.

Sunroof drains...open the A pillar trim and follow em down....I have a pic somewhere in the post.....and sludge would be blocking it
