Ok I took the cash.

Looking around for my next ride... maybe a Macan next year? Driving my P71 sled for a few months now.

While I agree that it's stupid they're totalling it for that little amount of damage, minor damage like that is how I found the one locally I was looking at...2005 w/ 106k, Milltek exhaust, EVOMS intake and he's asking $16,500 and said he'd dropped another $1k on it after I told him everyone on these forums suggested he's asking too much because of it having a salvage title. Ultimately I decided to be responsible and instead I'm going to finish what I started 5yrs ago on my BMW 7 series by finishing the auto-to-6spd transmission swap so I can do what I originally intended which is add another car into the family.

In your case I'd just let them total it and take the $17k to buy a CTT, which you can find them around that price range. Two birds, one stone.
