New to the Forum and to Porsche: 957 TT
Hello,
Just traded my Quattroporte for an 08 Cayenne TT, 60K miles, Black on Black. Stack of service history and 3yrs/30K mile warranty.
Looking forward to being part of this forum.
Cheers!

Thanks, I fell in love during the test drive...then I pressed the Sport mode button ... unlike any SUV I have driven, my poor DD Nissan Leaf is sitting at home.

Quattroporte replaced with CTT, Leaf is the free car (lease), the DD for my 5.2 mile commute.
Will try that. Does PSM OFF actually remap the throttle response? Will have to read up on it.
QP was a blast, had Larini X-pipe and Tubi cans. Here are some clips

Hey Atlantan, I also just bought a 2008 957TT. I was in the market for either that or the Mercedes ML63 and was searching for months. I made an offer to a dealership who had a nice low mile ML63 with all the options. Their counteroffer was a bit high so I passed on it and bought the CTT instead. After reading about the reliability issues of the ML63 I think I made the right decision. Although after reading some of the posts on here, I'm starting to sweat a little more. Not sure if the 08 models had the coolant pipe issue resolved or the cardon shaft upgraded but I guess I'll search the forums and find out what bugs were ironed out for 08 models.
Congratulations on your 957TT. I take delivery of mine next week.

Really nice find. You got the best painted rims, black out exterior package and the sport design package too. Those were options on the TT and can be hard to find. Mine is dressed exactly the same but is a GTS. Love the look. Congrats.

The cardan shaft issue is the same across all years and models, including the VW Toureg. Think of it as a wear item like brakes or suspension components. Every 70k or so you will have to replace the shaft or upgrade the bearing mount with the ECS solution.
All in all, these are really well made vehicles. After 28 years and 5 911s, I can tell you that Porsche did it right with the '08-09s... and many later years as well. The later 955s are great as well, but have the coolant tube issue. I am actually considering getting an '06S for my wife.
Congrats on your purchase!
Cheers,

Thanks for the info Tom. Glad I was able to pick up a model year with fewer issues.
Mine has a bit more mileage than I would have liked, but I couldn't beat the price on a clean southern Cayenne. It's comforting to know how well designed these trucks are. Hopefully, I can put a lot more trouble free miles on it.
I'll look into the ECS mod for the cardon shaft. As well as the coolant manifold. I don't have a problem with routine maintenance. I just hope these aren't issues that will need attention every year. I imagine, like most vehicles; if you take care of it, it will take care of you.
Thanks again.
