iSimple Tranzit BLU HF: A decent alternative to MOST interface for Bluetooth
#46
Tranzit Blu is great but just uninstalled for Dynavin
I just removed my Tranzit Blu when installing a Dynavin in my 997.1. The Tranzit Blu worked great for BT streaming and calls, but I got a great deal on the Dynavin and decided to upgrade from PCM.
If anyone is interested in the Tranzit Blu on the cheap, PM me and it is yours for $55 w/ USPS shipping.

GREAT ADVICE
New CTT Owner here just chiming in to say THANK YOU to DWC in Sedona for posting the great advice about the iSimple Tranzit!
Unfortunately I'm not as technically inclined as some of guys on this forum, so I had Best Buy install mine. But, it ABSOLUTELY WORKS like a charm!
This forum is a gold mine of good information!

Another new fan of isimple Bluetooth
Works great!
As others have said, the hardest part is fishing wires from the dash panel down but otherwise very simple.
My truck has the Bose cdr23 radio.

Digging up an old thread - I have installed the blu hf in my 04 CTT but the mic reception is horrible. It is to the point where the other person cuts the call short because the reception is so poor.
I have the mic mounted on the A-pillar for now. Previously, I tried the forward grille in the overhead console with the same result - similar to Veto Valente's post.
At the moment, I have ordered a replacement Clarion mic recommended by the product rep at Crutchfield. Any tips on how to get better reception out it? My unit also does not display the RDS data correctly, it will get stuck on one word from a song title or it will display "iphone". Almost seems like I have a dud...

My Tranzit Blu has been in for over two years with the mic on the A-pillar, with no issues at all. I suggest that you pull the head unit and check all the connections. If they're good, I'd look to the blu unit or the mic being bad.

Arrived from Amazon yesterday, fitted it the same day.
Works great with the exception of 3 issues.
Faulty Mic
The Control button has a dry joint where the ribbon cable meets the 2 wires - the pink wire fell off in my hand :-(
Had to factory Reset 2 times before it would connect to Bluetooth.
Am awaiting to see the outcome of my email for a replacement.

Sure does. Just did this yesterday on my 08. The black wire from the iTranzit goes to the brown radio ground. The red wire goes to switched-on power from the fuse panel. You will need the FRAKA antenna adapter as well. I purchased both from www.discountcarstereo.com

Finally switched TranzitB from constant power to switched-on. The only bummer is that I can’t listen to music from the unit with the engine off, but now the Bluetooth connects instantly without having to manually connect through settings. Always a trade-off, but such is life.
