Default Just added a CGTS to the family....

Just wanted to introduce myself to the Cayenne section as I recently purchased a 2008 GTS. Its a very nice example in Basalt Black / full back leather interior - all common issues already resolved, so hopefully this will be a reliable DD for me.

I did a lot of vacillating between GTS and TT, though I think this was the right choice for me considering my needs (and other cars in the stable).

The CGTS currently has Techart wheels on it, though I just ordered a set of Rinspeed wheels in matt graphite - here's a photoshop image I created while I was considering different wheels, along with an interior pic & pic of how it looks currently with the murdered Techarts...

Looking forward to enjoying the Cayenne!

Nice ride! Those Techarts are pretty darn sharp, are you planning to list those for sale here when your new ones arrive? I noticed is has a aftermarket hesd unit, which one is it? Was it a full rewire?

Not sure if I'm going to sell the Techarts yet... The PO had a crack repaired on one wheel & they seem to be a little out of balance. I plan on having my wheel guy put them on his roadforce machine to see if he can balance them out again.

The head unit is an Eclipse (cant remember the model). I like it, but have the original PCM as well.

Enjoy it in good health!

BTW, what common issues are you referring to?

That GTS looks a lot like the one Pelican used as their How-To model

Good eye! It is the same GTS. Casey at Pelican performed all of the work that is shown on the Pelican Tech Info section of their site:

http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...ayenne_GTS.htm

I spoke to Casey at length prior to buying & gained plenty of peace of mind regarding the mechanical condition. Casey also performed the PPI on it when the PO purchased a couple of years ago when he worked at Callas Rennsport. Callas are pretty detailed during their PPI process - all fender liners/headlights/tail lights removed etc... Leakdown was 2-3% across all cylinders. Passed with flying colors....
