Alignment Cayenne
Hi Black Turbo,
Great point. In my case, the tire shop rotated the tires and closely adjusted inflation. That did the trick.
Thanks,
David

I agree with wrinkledpants on the tires...
I had the same issue on the 09 CTTS after new tires, brakes, and alignment... I did some research on Rennlist and found that other Cayenne owners were recommending a RoadForce tire balancing machine. My indy was not using a RoadForce. I took it to a local indy who had a RoadForce and it fixed the problem. The balancing was slightly off on the first indy shop, and the RoadForce corrected the problem. Now it drives straight. This thing is very finicky with tires and alignment.

Cayenne's are extremely sensitive to tire pressure and tire balancing. Porsche recommends all tires be road forced balanced. I learned this the hard way.
Glad you got your problem resolved.

If you are in Santa Rosa, CA I would highly recommend Pagnano's out on Alton Lane for any future problems. Bill is the owner and solved similar problems with my Cayenne and 993. Came highly recommended from my indy when I lived there. Good luck!

Just got print out alignment specs on the CD and it shows the caster to be off on driver front. Thought caster is not adjustable unless you have a kit and only on GT cars..

This. Make sure the road force numbers are low, under 13lbs. I would recommend under 10lbs and put the lowest numbers up front and biggest number on rear right.

Slightly off topic but is that normal that outside edges front and rear wear out faster that the rest of the thread? I had a complaint about front tire, took it for alignment ($300 at the dealer) and after that the rest of the 3 wheels started showing noticeable outside wear as well.

I have the exact same thing - outer edge of tires wear. I remember the Porsche indy that installed my tires saying that it's normal for a Cayenne to wear a little more on on the outer edges of the front tires (They did not mention back tires though).
Has nothing to do with tyre pressure - I check mine every 2 weeks and it's always spot on what the door card says it should be. One thing that comes to my mind is that I'm currently running Runflat tires - which I think were not designed for Porsche (255/55R18 PZeros).

Buy a tire gauge a keep up with your tire pressures and monitor for wear. It only costs $20. While it is never going to be 100% accurate to the PSI, it will keep the pressure consistent in all wheels all the time especially when temperatures drop during season change.
People assume tire shops/dealerships will do their job right is just asking for issues. My newly installed tires had 4-5PSI difference between the two rear wheels according to TPMS as an example.

I have fought a pretty solid pull to the right on the Cayenne for a good while now as well. It was aligned at 3 different places or so. Granted none of them are big name, or a dealership. That could contribute to it still pulling right. Tire pressure being low/high does make it more noticeable like others have said.
