Default Disabling alarm when towing

The manual says you have to do it, but the manual is a little unclear on how to do it.

Do you just hit that switch on the B pillar behind the driver's seat, get in and tow?

How do you tow'ers do it? Don't see any conversation about it on search.

Do you have to do it at all?

Thanks.

What year is your Cayenne?

My 2011 speaks to it but not while towing. Only if you "attach or uncouple a trailer" [with the car locked which arms the alarm].

Yeah, I forgot to put year in post.

2013.

And yeah, I'm a little confused about the whole alarm thing. Do you just have to disable the alarm while attaching and unattaching the trailer? Or while driving with the trailer attached?

Thanks.

all you have to do is NOT have the car locked when you connect or disconnect a trailer light harness. If you lock the car and connect or disconnect the trailer light harness, the alarm will go off. Has nothing to do with driving while towing a trailer.
