Seat memory not working on driver side door

Same issues for me after battery swap - I can’t even tally up how much $$ this forum has saved me, plus the aggravation of worrying about broken parts. Thanks to all who posted this fix - worked like a charm!

Wanted to jump on to give another “Thank you! Saved me too!”
2014 Cayman S here. Just picked it up from a shop after an unrelated service and I was sure they broke something. Service advisor did the research for me after I brought it to his attention and sent me a link to this thread. Perfect!

Same thing worked for me with my 2016 Cayenne S (which stopped working after a thorough detailing session had me moving the seat all around while the ignition was off).
1) start car
2) move driver seat all the way forward
3) move driver seat all the way backward
4) raise driver seat to the highest position
5) lower driver seat to the lowest position
The set button resumed working immediately and everything is good now!
Thanks all who posted about this and bumped the thread from time-to-time.

Mine was that the Set LED would not activate. Pressing 1 or 2 moved the steering wheel & mirrors but not the seat position. I believe the cause was a battery replacement.

991.2 owner, hijacking this thread, but I also have a 957, so that's close...
Just recently purchased the 911 and had this issue. Did the seat reset and the functionality came back, light came on, etc... But then a week or two later it drops out again. No battery swap, nothing... Has any had this been a recurring problem or has the reset solution been long lasting. Based on what I'm reading, my situation may be a bit unique.

Thank you!! The trick still works
Just wanted to add my thanks for the advice. My 2017 CGTS only had mirror memory for my two presets. After making all of the seat and steering column adjustments, it worked like a charm.

Another bump for this old thread. My wife’s 958 had the same symptoms (nothing from the driver’s seat memory switches) and was able to reactivate via moving the seat to its limits as recommended above. Rennlist comes through again. Glad I checked before adding a replacement unit.

Yes!! It worked
For anyone else that may encounter this issue, the problem was solved.
I stopped by the dealer on the way home today and told the SA what my issue was. I stated that the mirrors responded to the preset buttons, the seat controls actually work, but the Set light does not illuminate, and the seat doesn't move when you press the preset buttons.
He said that it wouldn't need to be put in service. He said that maybe something kept it from moving in one direction and to save the motor, it goes into a failsafe mode. He had to just move the seat around to all its positions and it reset itself. $0 and I'm out the door.
