I'm considering a retrofit, but I want to know if 2011 models support the display of time in the embedded LCD in the dash compass. Thanks!

Dunno on the compass - the stopwatch does. Any reason you don't use the compass on the PCM screen? And perhaps add a sport-chrono clock there?

SC definitely won't work on a 2011- the software isn't there. The clock will work as a clock but no sport plus or chrono mode.

AFAIK - no. Only on the later models and Macan you can activate the clock.

Having added one of the clocks to my 2011 - it required coding it into the PCM that it existed. That was doable with iCarScan. It could then be setup on the PCM - with control of the lighting, and I seem to recall enabling it added a stopwatch and compass function to the PCM (not to the clock.) I do have one of the stopwatch instruments (used for the sport-chron) but never bothered plugging it in to see if the digital display will show the time, I can't imagine it won't. None of them will give Sport-Plus mode on a 2011, which is a shame.. I found it rather enjoyable on a loaner I had even with the V6 engine.

Does anyone know if you must have NAV to add a compass in place of a clock to have it work?

I think you're posting to the wrong forum - your 2010 would be a 955/957 series.. or are you asking about a GT3? and that might be different (did they offer a compass?)
