Replacing horn responsible for alarm lock Roadrunner "BEEP BEEP" on 958.1
This alarm lock/arming sound does not suit the 958 at all, I'm trying to replace that "beep beep" sound with something else.
I'm trying to narrow down the location of the alarm lock horn, sounds like its coming from the passenger side firewall area, but cant locate it exactly.
Has anyone changed this sound to something that sounds more like the Audi chirp?
I saw some threads on other Porsches, where people were swapping the roadrunner horn with the Piezo style buzzer, wondering if anyone has done this on a 2011+ Cayenne?

What were they thinking?
I have the same issue. Why would Porsche put such a feeble, childish sounding "meep meep" on a big powerful beast? I would love to change it to something more fitting on my 2013 Cayenne Turbo.
I'm anxiously awaiting the answer to your question.

Maybe I'm the only one but I love the little unk-unk that my 2013 makes. It sounds like a 2000s Jetta which I find overwhelmingly charming and cheeky given the family ties.

OK, check this thread, as it sounds like you guys are in the same boat I am in...

My posts are further down, but the gist is that if the alarm fails, or if the car isn't equipped with the battery-backup alarm, there is an option to put one of those metal disk horns in it's place. I just recently replaced that stupid horn with an old car alarm siren I had laying around, and now it has a more modern "beep-beep".. Not the same as with the other factory alarm module, but way better than that dead animal sound it used to make.

Just swapped out yet-another alarm on my 2011 CTT. The latest one is standard VAG so would be exactly the same sound the latest Porsches, Audis, VWs, etc. make. It’s a “chirp chirp” sound, which sounds modern. The DIY section of the forum has directions on how to locate the alarm. Took me just under 90 minutes today.

I had the dealer disable those chirps for me on my '17 GTS. That and the hatch-closing beeps. They made me sign a waiver acknowledging I was disabling a safety feature (or something to that effect).

I was able to remove the hatch-closing beeps with my Launch tablet, and curious what that would have cost.

Do have the part number? Where is the alarm/ horn located? I can’t stand the locking sound.
