Default Rebuild cardan (prop) shaft

Hi, have anyone here rebuilt their cardan shaft? Or is it called prop or propeller shaft in the US? :-) Reason I ask is that both mine are leaking grease, and I have a slight vibration at full throttle. I wouldn't have noticed this if my front diff was ok, but while diagnosing that I noticed the grease around the bearings.

I can only purchase the entire shaft from Porsche, not the bearing itself. The cost is astronomical compared to just replace the bearing.

The car is a 2014 Cayenne S Diesel.

Any thoughts?

Regards,

Johan

Shop around at your local indy shops as they can be obtained or repaired usually at a fraction of the stealership price. I found a indy in my area that just required me to bring in my old shaft and they swapped me for a rebuilt and balanced one for $300 !! You can also purchase the bearing online and you check out the many YouTube videos on doing it yourself also if you feel up to it. In my case for $300 for the shaft and $150 to install it was a no brainer for my Cayenne.
