Transmission Flush without PIWIS?
As the title says Im just wondering if its possible to do a transmission flush without PIWIS. I know youre supposed to check the temperature during the process so I'm wondering if theres an alternative.

In my experience, you will either pay for something a bit nicer (Durametric) or screw around with something that does the same thing but takes forever to set up for Porsche due to broken english instructions and lack of responsive tech support (Foxwell). Anything cheaper than about that price point (maybe $170) is unlikely to give transmission temp. I could be wrong, just haven't seen it myself.

Doing it without scanner.
I would buy a new oil receptacle for a couple dollars.
Drain oil.
Measure EXACTLY how much came out. To the milliliter!
Slowly replace the EXACT amount of new fluid.

Infrared thermometer is about 6 degrees C cooler on lowest part of pan vs fluid draining.
Measuring old fluid is fine. No need to go to the exact milileter because there will be some variation with the new filter absorbing fluid, some remnants in your fill hose etc.
This tranny doesnt appear hyper **** about fluid levels
Durametric does not read trans temp

thats what I used and it seems fine. In reality, the trans temp increases quickly, so this is at best a guessing game. It also leaves to your judgement what a steady drip or drizzle is.
Long story short, fill it up with more than you think you'll need, and drain more until you're happy. 200-300ml one way or another will make no difference.
