Default Lost Key

Two years ago, my wife hid the key to our 2013 Cayenne when we went on vacation. We are still looking for that key! I've about had it and just want to get another one. What are my options and cost? I stopped by our local locksmith and he cannot program Porsche keys. I know that if we have to go to Porsche, it will be very expensive!

Has to be done at a Porsche dealership. Think cost comes out to be a little less than $300.

I think that's for the physical key - I think they also charge an hour of labor to code it unless you can convince them otherwise. From what I understand, it's more like a $700 out of the door job.

It cost me $375 for key and $150 for the setup at a Porsche dealer in NJ.

When I bought mine a few years ago it only had one key and I negotiated a spare as part of the purchase. My local dealer charged the selling dealer a little over $500 all said and done if I remember correctly.

Well played, that probably came out to be a material % of the purchase price!

When you have a key coded by the dealer bring all of the keys in. I believe the key coding process wipes the existing keys from the system, then accepts codes for all the keys that are detected.

We had a new key coded by the dealer for my wife's Macan, and in the process lost the coding for her spare key.

that will mess him up doubly because we all know as soon as he pays to get the new key they’ll find the missing key

IS this process still dealer only, even if you have a decent diagnostic tool? I forget the name of the one most people recommend

I don't know anyone who has gone to a source other than the dealer but, a quick google searched found this:

Anyone wanna buy one of those things? I'm sure there'd be a good return on investment from just people here looking to recode!
